Thai Style Ground Meat with Chilies and Basil

from Melissa Clark's Cook This Now:

Sauce:
1 T soy sauce
2 tsp Asian fish sauce
1/4 tsp grated lime zest
1 tsp freshly squeezed lime juice
1/2 tsp sugar

Whisk together in a small bowl.

Meat:
1 T peanut oil
1 T finely chopped gingerroot
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 jalapeno, seeded and chopped
1 scallion, chopped
1 pound ground meat, turkey, pork, etc.

Heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the ginger, garlic, jalapeno, scallion. Cook until soft, about a minute. Stir in meat. Cook about 5-7 minutes.

Stir in soy sauce mixture and cook for a minute or so. Remove from heat, stir in 1/2 chopped basil. Scatter with sliced scallion greens. Serve, over rice with lime wedges.
